FAQ

Are my files uploaded to a server?+

No. The browser reads and plays files directly from your device. Neither file contents nor file names are sent to a server.

Some files won't open.+

Your browser doesn't support that format or codec. Older formats like AVI and WMV, and some MKV files, won't play. Use Playback check at the top to see what your browser can play, and convert to MP4 (H.264) if needed.

I hear sound but the picture is black.+

The browser supports the audio codec but not the video codec (for example HEVC). Try another browser such as Safari or Edge, or convert the file to H.264.

Subtitle text looks garbled.+

UTF-8 and EUC-KR (CP949) are detected automatically. Re-save subtitles in other encodings as UTF-8 with a text editor.

An embedded subtitle says Unsupported.+

Image-based subtitles such as PGS (Blu-ray) and VobSub (DVD) aren't supported. Only SRT, ASS, WebVTT and MP4 text subtitles can be extracted.

My playlist disappears when I refresh.+

Files and playlists aren't saved. Only volume, mute, playback speed and subtitle language are stored in this browser.

Does it work on my phone?+

Yes. You can open and play files in mobile browsers too. Rotation isn't applied in the iPhone's native fullscreen, though.
